Coming up for County seniors

March 19 – 55 Alive Mature Driving Classroom Refresher Course – The course will be offered by the County Seniors Centre at the Wellington Town Hall on Tuesday, March 19th. The Canada Safety Council developed this mature driver retraining program which is designed specifically to help older drivers improve their driving skills. This is a full session program from 9:30am to 3p.m. The cost is $30 per person which includes a light lunch, workbook and refreshments. Registration is open to all seniors. March 20 – Seniors Luncheon Social in Milford. Enjoy good food and conversation with old and new friends at noon. The menu features Scottish minced ground beef stew, potatoes, vegetables, dessert, bread and butter and coffee and tea. The cost is $10 per person. There will be a presentation by Community Safety Officer Patrick Menard on winter driving and frauds and scams. Reserve by the Tuesday prior at noon, 613-476-7493. Take-out & delivery available. Sponsored by The Prince Edward County Community Care for Seniors Association and will be held in Milford Town Hall. www.communitycareforseniors.org

March 21 – Hearing Help Clinic – The Canadian Hearing Society (CHS) holds free Hearing Help Clinics in partnership with Prince Edward Community Care. On Thursday, March 21st the Clinic will be held at the Community Care office, 74A King Street, Picton. This is your chance to have a Hearing Care Counsellor answer your questions about hearing loss, give information about hearing health care, provide communication strategies for hearing loss, do hearing screening, provide tips for hearing aid maintenance and demonstrate technical devices. Call the County Seniors Centre at 613-476-7493 to schedule your half hour appointment with a hearing care counsellor.
