‘Neighbourhood Greeting Events’ to spread the latest work on County’s hospital

Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation (PECMH Foundation) wants to share information about on-going plans to build a new hospital in the County.

The foundation is establishing a network of friends willing to host informal gatherings of family, neighbours and friends. A foundation connection or board member would attend the event for a brief period to talk about how plans for the new hospital are progressing. The events are not intended for fundraising.

Earlier this month, Fran Renoy hosted a soiree as the kickoff event for the neighbourhood greeting events. Thirty guests attended the ‘Sunday September Soiree’ to learn about the new hospital plans.

“I think it is very important that we keep the conversation going about our new hospital even though it may be a few years before a spade goes in the ground,” said Renoy. “My feeling is that foundation has come up with an excellent plan to share information with the PEC stakeholders. I think that it will work very well to keep residents informed.”

The events are entirely planned by the host and can be informal or formal including such events as coffee gatherings, book, swim, yoga, gardening etc., clubs, beach walks or cycling friends meeting. To share the news, send photographs of your event to Foundation Communications Co-ordinator Briar Boyce at briar@pecmhf.ca

If you are interested in hosting an event please contact Lillian Duffy at 613-476-9656 or John Walker at 416-399-0813
