ELLEN MARIE DAINARD – April 15, 1925 – January 13, 2018 – Peacefully at Hallowell House on Saturday January 13th, 2018. Ellen Dainard, of Picton, at the age of 92. Beloved wife of the late George Clark & Bruce Dainard. Dear step-mother of Ted Dainard and his wife Lynda of Picton, Larry Dainard and his wife Penny of Bloomfield and Gerry Dainard and his wife Sue of Conway. Special aunt of Scott Clark, Bonnie Davidson and Fred Clark. Dear step-grandmother of several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. Mrs. Dainard is resting at the Whattam Funeral Home, 33 Main Street, Picton, ON. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday January 17th, at 2 pm. Reverend Richard Hamilton to officiate. Cremation to follow with spring interment in Universalist Cemetery. FLORENCE BERNICE CARTER (nee Pringle) – June 28, 1929 – January 11, 2018 – Peacefully with her family at Kingston General Hospital on Thursday January 11th, 2018. Florence Carter of R.R.#4, Picton at the age of 88. Beloved wife of the late Jack. Adored mother of John (Jan), Terry (Nancy), Rosemary Bird (Terry), Russell (Cheryl), Heather Merchant (Kevin), Tracey Breakenridge (Wayne) and Susan Moore (Michael). Dear sister of the late Mabel Smithson, Morley, Russell, Everett, Gerald, Ken, Blanche Rand, and Edna Branscombe. Grandma to Sarah, Katie, Nathan, Fred, Jillian, Melissa, Michael, Jennifer, Kimiko, Jessica, Erin, Kristin, Curtis, Travis, Alisha, Megan, Carter, Michelle, Ryan and Tyler and her numerous great-grandchildren. Florence will be sadly missed by her sister-in-law Lois Carter. Mrs. Carter is resting at the Whattam Funeral Home, 33 Main Street, Picton, ON. A memorial service will be held in the chapel on Thursday January 18th, 2018 at 2 pm. MARLINE ‘Lee’ BERNICE LENORE TURNER – December 29, 1943 – January 9, 2018 – Suddenly, after a short illness at Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, January 9th, 2018 “Lee” Turner of Demorestville passed away at the age of 74. Beloved wife of the late Walter. Dear mother of Bonnie Saul and her husband Gordon of Foxboro, LeeAnn (Lesley) Rogers and her husband Ken of Brampton and step-son Wally Turner Jr. Dear sister of Merle Legere of Toronto, Bill Ryan of Winnipeg and Eileen King of Nova Scotia. Sadly missed by her grandchildren James (Suzann), Shaun, Kaylee, Robert and the late Kristopher, Great grandmother of Damian and Zachery. JOHANNA GEERTRUIDA WESTERVELT – May 31, 1924 – January 7, 2018 – Surrounded by love, she was called home on Sunday January 7th, 2018 at Hospice Prince Edward. Hanna Westervelt, of West Lake, at the age of 93. Beloved wife of the late John. Loved mother of Gerry and his wife Nora of West Lake, Bill and his wife Lynda of Picton, Alex and his wife Cheryl of West Lake and Gilbert and his wife Nancy of West Lake. Beloved Oma of Teresa, Lisa, Jessica, Wesley, Chris, Brad, Trevor, Angela, Janelle, Brian, Ellen, Leah, Lauren and their spouses and the late Lesley and Great-Oma of twenty. A special aunt of Annie Nyman, she will also be fondly remembered by many in-laws, nieces and nephews both in Canada and Netherlands, and by many in the community who called her Oma. Beloved mother of Ilene Palmateer (Mervin) of Deseronto, Mary Maracle (Ronnie) of Deseronto, Donnie (Ron) of Roblin, Eleanor Neilon (Mike) of Port McNicholl, the late Barb Riley (Bob) of Kingston, Gary (Carol) of Niagara Falls, Richard (Brenda) of Belleville and Roxanne Henderson (Bill) of Port McNicholl. LOIS JOAN LEITHWOOD – At the Hallowell House Nursing Home on Friday January 5, 2018, Lois Leithwood (nee Botts) passed away at the age of 84. Beloved wife of the late John William “Bus” Leithwood and loved mother to Colleen (Rick Slack) of Owen Sound, Guy (Leanne) of Keswick and the late Earl of Black River. Dear sister of Betty (Sherman) Sedore, Joe Surman, Debbie (George) Baranyai and the late Barbara Prescott and Hubert, Harrison and Earl Botts. Proud grandmother of 7 and remembered by her numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Leithwood rested at the Hicks Funeral Home 2 Centre Strret, Picton.
