Panther teams slam dunk gold and silver medals at Bay of Quinte

PECI’s junior and senior basketball teams left the Bay of Quinte Championships with medals.

The seniors girls team won the Bay of Quinte Championship last night for the second straight year. The win capped off a perfect 12-0 season with a 61-48 win over Saint Theresa.

Over the past two seasons the Panthers are a perfect 25-0 in Bay of Quinte League play. Vanessa Willis led all scorers with 21 points while Mikayla Leavitt and Lydia Snider had six each. Mackenzie Chapman led the Titans with 11 pts.

In the junior final, the Titans beat the Panthers 38-28 in a defensive battle. Hailey Chapman had 13 for the Titans while Myla DeBoef had 15 for the Panthers.

PECI will head to Kawartha to compete in AA COSSA while STSS will host AAA on Thursday. Both teams head to AA and AAA COSSA next week.
