Small comforts for children in hospital emergency department

At the first presentation were WI member Nancy Wood with PECMH’s Lisa Mowbray and Cheryl Minaker, and WI members Sue Donly, Wilma de Wolde and Kim de Bruin.

Youngsters having a tough time visiting scary hospital emergency departments will be presented some small comforts, thanks to local Prince Edward District Women’s Institute members.

The members met recently to create activity bags containing a stuffed toy, a small blanket, an activity and colouring book, a story book and some pencils and crayons.

The bags were delivered to the emergency departments at Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital and Belleville General Hospital. The WI members note they will continue making the activity bags to be donated to the hospitals as needed.
