Snow, sun, snow, sun, snow

UPDATE WEDNESDAY – Due to snow and poor road conditions, garbage and green bin collection service in North and South Marysburgh is cancelled for the remainder of the day. Garbage and green bin collection service in the northwest area of Picton has been delayed today due a truck malfunction. Collection in that area will occur on Thursday, Feb. 8.

Waste Management is to resume collection in those wards on Thursday. Residents are asked to put out their garbage and green bins for collection before 7 a.m.

Recycling collection is cancelled for the remainder of the day and is expected to resume on Saturday, Feb. 10.

Residents whose recycling was not collected today are encouraged to bring their material inside and have it to the curb by 7 am on Saturday, Feb. 10.

While snow removal on streets and roadsides is under way, expect snow – heavy at times – for Wednesday as 10-15cms is forecast to fall over the County by early evening. Wind gusts throughout the day are forecast to be up to 40km/h.

Thursday is expected to bring a mix of sun and cloud while Friday is showing another chance of snow – at 40 per cent. Saturday forecasts are offering up another mix of sun and cloud, followed by another snow day, Sunday.

The municipality will be removing snow along streets and roadsides across the municipality over the next few days.

Crews will be snow blowing roadsides beginning at 10:30 pm on Tuesday, Feb. 6 in Milford and Cherry Valley, as well as Bloomfield, if time permits.

Snow removal continues at 10:30 pm on Wednesday, Feb. 7 in Picton, and at 10:30 pm on Thursday, Feb. 8 in Bloomfield and Wellington.
