TASTE all day Saturday at historic Camp Picton

The County’s annual TASTE Community Grown event will be held at a new location this year – in the Loch Sloy army hanger at Historic Camp Picton, a picturesque 1950s airbase, at 343 County Road 22.

Patrons of the food and drink festival will experience new farmers’ market vendors, a beer garden, and tastings of award-winning County wines Saturday, Sept. 23.

This year, the ticket price of $20 per person (plus group discounts) makes the event more family friendly and allows consumers the opportunity to enjoy more of the delicious tastings that the festival is known for.

“An exciting new location and lower ticket price means this year’s TASTE Festival will be the don’t-miss-event of the fall,” said Duarte Da Silva, Executive Director of the Prince Edward County Winegrowers Association (PECWA), which organizes the event.

“TASTE Community Grown is one of Prince Edward County’s most highly anticipated wine and culinary festivals and a gathering of the best food and drink purveyors the area has to offer, all in one place.”

The market features uniquely County artisanal cheese, preserves, fresh-from-the-farm favourites and other high quality local products. Patrons will sample food and beverages from of the region’s best restaurants, wineries and cideries.

“TASTE is the annual celebration of the harvest that helps to define Prince Edward County as Ontario’s fastest-growing wine region and culinary destination. We’re excited to hold TASTE this year in one of the historic airplane hangars at Loch-Sloy Business Park, formerly Camp Picton.

TASTE is going to be the perfect event to spend time with family and friends in the County,” said Da Silva.

This year’s ticket price is $20 and includes free parking, entrance for all children under 12, take-home tasting glass, tote bag, admission to workshops and the Maison Depoivre Gallery, as well as live local entertainment all day. Family pass for four is $68.

Experience the flavours of the County by visiting the food
trucks, wine, beer and spirit vendors, farmer’s market and artisan shopping booths. New this year, sample tickets will be available for an additional $2, allowing visitors to taste the goods from some of Prince Edward County’s top food and drink purveyors.
