‘Tee off fore health care’ drives in $30,000 for hospital equipment

Golf-carts-1Supporters of the second annual Teeing Up Fore Health Care golf classic held Tuesday, June 14 scored a hole-in-one by raising more than $30,000 net for the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation.

Realtors at RE/MAX Quinte Ltd. in Prince Edward County directing the proceeds from the tournament toward the Hospital Foundation’s current LIFE SAVER II Campaign for medical equipment – specifically for a replacement colonoscope at a cost of almost $30,000 for the County Hospital’s Endoscopy Department.

The inaugural tournament in 2015 brought in more than $23,000 for an ECG machine at PECMH. This year’s achievement brings the two-year total raised through RE/MAX’s efforts to $53,000, which will bring the mercury up on the thermometer outside their Lake Street office to $160,000. RE/MAX has committed to raising $250,000 for medical needs.

Twenty foursomes teed off under sunny skies to enjoy 18 holes on the picturesque and challenging course at the Picton Golf and Country Club, a Par 72 course.

“We were blessed with approximately 40 local businesses who came on board as hole sponsors, thus showing their support for PECMH,” said Penny Rolinski, executive director with the PECMH Foundation.

Picton Home Hardware and Building Centre donated the prizes for the hole activities and top foursome. The winners of the various activities throughout the day were as follows:
