Jo-Anne Rose and Mark Davis, of 100 People Who Care PEC, present the members’ first donation of 2026 – $10,000 – to Beth Lafay, of Reaching for Rainbows.
The 100 People Who Care Prince Edward County members helped with ‘Reaching for Rainbows’ as the group presented $10,000 this quarter to the charity.
Reaching for Rainbows provides a safe space for girls aged six to 12 years old to foster friendships, a feeling of belonging, and a greater sense of self. It is based out of The Andrew (St. Andrew’s Church) in Picton and welcomes 30 girls each year from PECI and St. Gregory’s schools.
The 100 People Who Care group is based on the simple concept of bringing together a group of 100+ people who commit to meet four times per year, contribute $100 at each meeting, and make a huge impact on a local charity.
This donation means the organization has contributed more than $291,000 to charities in PEC since its inception in 2015 – despite losing some members and momentum during COVID 19 lockdowns.
