2006 election results show voter turnout

The official 2006 PEC election results not only show how the voters voted, but the percentage of voters who turned out in each ward. countylive.ca encourages all eligible voters to get to themselves to the polls on Monday to exercise the privilege of voting. Take your identification – especially if you do not have a voter’s registration card! Comments are now closed on all candidates’ election news stories.

    The loss of 2500 eligible voters in the past 4 years (as noted by John) may partially the be the result of errors in the MPAC generated Voters List. But the decline in population leaves me with this question: who will buy all the new houses being built?
    New Mayor Mertens says more development will pay the County’s bills. But if the County ends up with an oversupply of houses real estate values will sink. And the people who already own mortgaged homes here may find they owe more than their house is worth.
    “Building out” the County will cost us all! Council – please consider the impact of unrestrained development on present residents

    A lot of people leave the county–they do not come here. Costs are too high
    the reason the council has to stop spending money on things we do not need
    Just because you want something it is not necessary to have it

    Eligible Voters 2006 23895 Eligible Voters 2010 21351 difference of 2544 people. where have all the people gone.
