Prince Edward County’s non-profit, volunteer-driven, community radio station – 99.3 County FM – is here because of the community’s support.
The 11th annual Radiothon returns to 99.3 County FM Thursday, June 5 through Sunday, June 8 with an amazing assortment of live performances from more than 45 local musicians.
“The radiothon is the non-profit station’s foremost fundraising event of the year, raising more than one third of the station’s revenues from non-advertising sources,” said Craig Mills, the station’s General Manager.
“Our volunteers and staff deliver an incredible lineup of musical and spoken word programming 24/7 every week. On top of the news team’s exceptional work, we’re proud of our various specialty projects such as the new Reflections on Lives & Times in PEC series, Outsmarting the Scammers, the Wellington Dukes Play by Play and the recent live broadcast of the election debate. All of our volunteer’s efforts to connect the county are made possible due to the support of our donors and business community.”
Jim ‘JJ’ Johnston, Director Emeritus of County FM’s Board, has been appointed the Honourary Chair for Radiothon 2025.
“I’ve been involved with 99.3 since its inception in 2014 and am proud to assume this new role. As well as being critical to the station’s finances, Radiothon showcases the depth and breadth of musicians who contribute so much to our community. I urge everyone in the County to tune-in and support the station while enjoying this annual entertainment extravaganza.”
Radiothon 2025’s fundraising goal is $74,000. These funds help County FM keep its equipment and systems up-to-date and able to broadcast its many programs and services.
The station is committed to supporting local musicians and is grateful to all of the artists who volunteer to perform over the four day event.
“It’s four days of treasured unique performances, a chance for listeners to interact with the station, and your opportunity to help us “bridge the gap” to keep community radio alive and well in PEC.”
Taking the lead in coordinating this year’s musicians is local performer and songwriting coach Megan Hutton.
“I am really excited about Radiothon 2025. Many of the County’s wonderful singers, songwriters and musicians contribute their time and talent to support our station. Listeners will have the opportunity to hear all of these fabulous voices Thursday, June 5 through Sunday, June 8. We hope that those listening will support the station and its programming with a donation.”
