Partial burn ban in effect until Wednesday due to extreme heat
Administrator | Jun 22, 2025 | Comments 0
The County is under a partial burn ban throughout the municipality from Sunday, June 22 through Wednesday, June 25.
The burn ban is in place due to the extreme heat expected during this time. The partial burn ban is to help protect the health and safety of Prince Edward County firefighters from battling preventable fire situations.
Under a partial burn ban, burning is restricted to a container with a screened top or a small campfire. Propane-fueled appliances such as barbecues and fire tables are exempted from the Open-Air Burning bylaw.
The municipality reminds the public that illegally burning garbage violates the burning bylaw and violations may result in cost recovery for any services rendered by Prince Edward County Fire & Rescue.
A burn permit is required for all open-air burning. The burn status can be checked anytime by calling 1.833.376.1011 or by visiting the County website.
For more information, contact Fire Dispatch, Prince Edward County at 613.476.2345 or fire@pecounty.on.ca.
