Remembrance Day services are planned for several communities in Prince Edward County on Monday, Nov. 11.

Picton
A service will begin at the Picton United Church (12 Chapel Street) at 10 am, followed by a ceremony at the Picton War Memorial/Cenotaph (118 Picton Main Street). Following the ceremony, a march will lead to the Elks Lodge (21 Elk Street) where a reception will take place.

Road closures are required to accommodate the march:
Picton Main Street will be closed at Walton Street beginning at 10:45 am.
The following intersections will be affected: Picton Main Street and Walton Street; Ferguson Street/Chapel Street and Picton Main Street; and the Tim Hortons exit onto Picton Main Street. Pedestrian traffic will be permitted.
The march route will follow Picton Main Street, Bridge Street, Union Street, and Elk Street.
The Ontario Provincial Police will lead the parade and control traffic at Union Street and Pitt Street. Barricades will block vehicles on side streets from entering Picton Main Street during the parade.

Wellington
A service will begin at 10 am at the Wellington United Church (245 Wellington Main Street). Following the service at 10:45 am, a parade will proceed to the cenotaph in Wellington Park.

To accommodate the parade:
Wellington Main Street (County Road 33) will be closed between Maple Street and Wharf Street from 10:30 am until 11:30 am. Pedestrian traffic will be permitted.

Consecon
A ceremony will be held at the Consecon Legion (184 County Road 29 in Consecon) beginning at 11 am. No road closures required for this ceremony.
