Contractors will be conducting blasting work at the site of the new long-term care facility located at 90 Finnegan Drive in Picton.
Blasting work is to occur weekdays from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., beginning Tuesday, May 28 through to Wednesday, June 11.
Multiple blasts during the day are anticipated to occur on the following dates:
May 28, 29, 30
June 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
June 9, 10, 11
As well as elevated noise levels for the duration of the blasting, vibrations may be felt in the area.
The contractor has delivered printed notices about the blasting to residents living near the construction site.
Over the next several years, the municipality plans to construct a brand new 160-bed facility on four acres of municipally owned land adjacent to the existing long-term care home. The current H.J. McFarland Memorial Home remains in operation while the new building is under construction.
