Master Sylvio Behring, a 7th Degree Red & Black-belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Professor Shah Franco, the Canadian Head of the Franco-Behring Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Alliance arrive today at Picton Martial Arts for a three-day Instructor Training Symposium.
Master Behring started training in 1966 at the age of four, out of Master Joao Alberto Barretos’ Academy (9th degree, red belt under Master Helio Gracie). He primarily trained with his younger brother Marcelo Behring under the watchful eye of his father, Master Flavio Behring, also a direct student of Helio Gracie.
Today he is widely regarded as one of the premier Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instructors in the world, dedicating much of his time to travelling abroad from his home in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Professor Shah Franco has more than 30 years of teaching and training in the Martial Arts.  One of Toronto’s legendary MMA trainers, Professor Franco is one of the most respected and well-known Traditional and Modern Martial Arts Instructors in all of Canada. A Master of Traditional Karate (7th Degree Black-Belt, IKA World Champion, North American Champion, World Games Competitor), Professor Franco was one of the first Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners to be ranked to Black belt in Canada.
