Canada Day a weekend of fun in Picton

The celebration of Canada’s birthday begins Saturday in Picton with the Kiwanis Club of Picton’s County Breakfast at the Masonic Hall from 8 a.m. to noon.
Canada Day fun begins Sunday, July 1 with a church service in Delhi Park at 10:30 a.m. The Kids’ Carnival, featuring games, rides, food, music and prizes, opens at Delhi at noon and continues through to 5 p.m.
Downtown Picton will feature sidewalk sales, an artisan market at the Royal Walkway, buskers, martial arts demonstrations, sno cones and cotton candy at The Regent Theatre.
Participants in the Dog Parade need to meet at Benson Park Tennis Court at 1 p.m. Judging will take place at the Armoury Mall at 1:30, followed by pet photos.
The Come Alive Outside Play Zone will be set up at the south end of Elizabeth Street from noon to 4 p.m.
Celebration ceremonies begin at the Delhi hill at 7 p.m. featuring a Rising Star performance hosted by Instant Rivalry and the fireworks begin at dusk.
