Christmas events will make you merry

Complaining about the hustle and bustle of the coming holidays? Make Christmas merry – for yourself and others – by attending the following celebrations of the season.

The Children’s Aid Society of Prince Edward Christmas Angel Campaign has opened its office in the Sobeys plaza next to Mayhew Jewellers. Individuals can drop by the office to pick an angel off the tree to support a child this Christmas. The office is also taking non-perishable food donations to help local families. December 15 – The students of Sonrise Christian Academy will present a Christmas musical performance “Bows Of Holly”  Thursday, December 15, 7:30 p.m. at Bethany Christian Reformed Church, 158 Main St., Bloomfield Donations of non-perishable food items accepted at the door in support of New Life Girls Home, Consecon.

December 15 – Peace in the County at 10:30 a.m. at St. Andrew’s Picton, 31 King St. Bring your journal or just yourself for an hour of prayer, listening and contemplation. Featuring music by pianist Sarah Harris and photography by Phil Norton. Enter quietly through the front door.

December 16 – Children’s Christmas Party at Massassaga/Rednersville School Playgroup – 9:30am – 11:30am. Please bring a wrapped book with your child’s name on it for Santa’s bag.

December 18 – Command Performance Choir presents its annual seasonal concert Sunday, Dec. 18th at 2 pm at Mary Magdalene Anglican Church, Picton. Advance tickets are $15 online at www.commandperformancechoir.com or at the door for $18. Donations of a non-perishable food item for the food bank welcome.
