Community support comes one slice at a time

AppleBlossomFestpieSupporters of the annual St. John’s Anglican Church Apple Blossom Festival raised more than $1,300 for community projects – one slice of pie at a time.

“The generosity of the community all over Marysburgh has been so wonderful,” said Judith. “So pies were made – not only by the women, but also the men in the community. We came into church this morning and the back pew was covered in pies.”

The event was moved this year to the County Cider Company, in Waupoos and the sunshine helped bring a great turn out of guests.

“An outstanding turnout. County Cider is such a hot spot to come on a beautiful day,” she added. “We have many people, and some cyclists, who come specifically every year.”
