On Saturday August 2nd. from 8:00 am till the awesome event closing Street Dance featuring the Soulful, Bluesy, Rock’nRoll sounds of the County’s own “Little Bluff” the public is invited to join us and take part in “Consecon Community Day 2014.”
This is a daylong festivities filled occasion with absolutely something for everyone. Kicking off the day is the “Car Boot Sale” in the Emm’s Restaurant parking lot right on Loyalist Parkway or do your bargain hunting at the area-wide Garage and Yard Sales taking place at the same time.
Free wagon rides around the village, kids zone, charity car wash, fire truck and OPP car on the Emm’s Restaurant property; Get involved in “Make A Memory” a Community Art Project or Yoga, and Chi Kung demonstrations at Janet B’s Gallery, next to the Cascades Pub & Grill. The Consecon Library will hold their annual the used book sale and kids craft area.
At 1:00 pm the “4th. Annual Consecon Soap Box Derby” will roll out on the the Mill Street hill, free registration begins at Noon.
Holistic Nutritionist Trish Krause, demonstrates uses for fresh-picked organic produce and wine tastings at Redtail Vineyards, the County’s only off grid winery.
After the Derby, head on down to the Consecon Legion, chill a little and take your time and enjoy the evening Pig Roast, your lead in to the Street Dance on Mill Street in front of the Legion and Masonic Hall.
To all those planning to attend remember to bring along your lawn chairs. Celebration partnered by the Ameliasburgh Ward 4, Recreation Committee and (CARA) the Consecon and Area Ratepayers Association Inc.
