Crosswalk line painting was to take place overnight in Picton and Wellington as the County of Prince Edward is recognizing the service, contributions and sacrifices of veterans and those who serve in the Canadian Armed Forces.
The commemorative crosswalks at Picton, and Wellington, by the cenotaphs, honour Indigenous Veteran’s Day (Nov. 8) and Remembrance Day (Nov. 11).
Last November, council passed a motion authorizing staff to take the necessary actions to implement the Remembrance Day “Lest We Forget” commemorative crosswalk installations.
The Consecon Commemorative Crosswalk, (pictured above) located at Squires Street and County Road 29 has recently been installed as part of this motion.
