All 120 municipalities that applied for funding through the Ontario Municipal Commuter Cycling Program will be receiving it from the province to build new bike lanes and other infrastructure.
Steven Del Duca, Minister of Transportation, announced Monday total program funding is $93 million, an increase from the $42.5 million announced earlier this year. This investment is part of Ontario’s Climate Change Action Plan and is funded by proceeds from the province’s cap on pollution and carbon market.
The County is to receive $60,000 while Belleville gains $429,981 and Quinte West is to receive $314,569.
