Cruising Club holds first sail past at Prinyer’s Cove

The Prinyers Cove Cruising Club (PCCC) held its first sail past and lobster dinner at Prinyers Cove Marina. More than 20 boats took part in light winds and choreographed in Adolophus Reach to form a splendid line into Prinyers Cove.

Past (acting) PCCC Commodore Joe Mariash was in full nautical regalia to take the honors before everybody docked to continue the festivities.

Back on shore, the 64 sailors and their guests gathered to enjoy a wide array of appetizers supplied by the participants and some light libations to set the tone and quench thirst.

The party retreated to the carriage house which had been transformed into a dining hall with a nautical theme as Steve Harris and Jim Reeks deftly cracked hot lobsters and welcomed all to a superb repast.

To round out the evening, a number of the attendees broke out in impromptu songs to the delight of all.

Credit for the event goes to organizers Steve and Barb Harris, who stated the ball rolling some weeks ago, along with Don Houghton who provided the venue at the Marina and the many others who pitched in to create a enjoyable day.
