Curbside battery collection March 10 – 21

Residents may dispose of dead, intact household batteries curbside from Monday, March 10 to Friday, March 14 and Monday, March 17 to Friday, March 21.

AA, AAA, C, D, 9V, 6V, and button cell batteries will be collected on the dates corresponding with the household’s regular recycling collection days.

To dispose of batteries, place a small piece of masking tape on exposed terminals of all lithium, button cell, and rechargeable batteries to prevent fire hazards. Place the batteries inside a clear re-sealable bag. Seal the bag and place it on top of your papers blue box.

Please note: larger batteries, light bulbs and electronics are not accepted in this curbside program.

Quinte Waste Solutions reminds to have the blue box to the curb by 7 a.m. on collection day.

Outside of designated collection dates, residents can bring their batteries and other hazardous waste to the Household Hazardous & Electronic Waste Depot (HEW Depot) in Belleville for safe disposal.
