Discover Taoist Tai Chi – OPEN HOUSE February 3

Discover the Taoist Tai Chi™ arts

Taoist Tai Chi™ arts are founded upon a rich tradition of Taoist training. They are intended to return both body and mind to their original nature.

According to Taoist teachings body and mind cannot be separated. Each step in the training is intended to help the mind return to stillness, clarity and wisdom, and the body to a balanced, relaxed and healthy state.

A Path of Dual Cultivation

Taoist Tai Chi™ arts are distinguished at the physical level by stretching, full range of motion and the continuous turning of the waist and spine. The movements exercise the whole physiology; including the tendons, joints, connective tissue and internal organs.

At the mental and spiritual level, they are a method of ‘taming the heart’ and developing an attitude of calm, compassion and reduced self-centredness both during practice and in daily life. This aspect is cultivated in particular through the deeply held value of volunteerism present in the Fung Loy Kok Institute of Taoism.

The Origin of  Taoist Tai Chi™ arts

In earlier times, the rituals, ceremonies, and dual cultivation techniques were generally the special domain of the priesthood or monastic practitioners.

The founder of the Fung Loy Kok Institute of Taoism, Master Moy Lin Shin, devoted decades of his life to develop these arts of cultivating body, heart and mind to make them accessible and beneficial to everyone, regardless of their physical condition.

Where to start your training

While there are many ways to participate in the training, most people begin with the physical practice of Tai Chi. Taoist Tai Chi™ arts include a gentle set of movements that promote well-being for people of all ages and in all conditions.

Classes are offered at our many locations around the world. Through your location you will have the opportunity to experience the rich and diverse tradition offered by Fung Loy Kok.
