Dukes set pre-season dates, welcome Reid

The Wellington Dukes named former Duke defenceman (1991-93) and OJHL All Star Todd Reid to the Hockey Operations Staff in the capacity of Assistant Coach effective immediately.
The Stirling native has worked previously at the Canadian University and “AAA” level in various Head Coach and Assistant Coach positions.
“Todd is a former Duke, OJHL All-Star, Canadian University player and Coach. His desire to return to the Dukes speaks volumes to his loyalty and commitment to our program, which to me is a key ingredient to our success,” said Marty Abrams, Dukes General Manager and Head Coach. “Todd has had considerable success in his Coaching career and compliments our approach in terms of player development and team competitiveness. I look forward to working with Todd and welcome him and his family back to Wellington.”

Tuesday AUG 31st at Carleton Place 730
The Dukes will hold their 2010-11 regular season home opener Friday, September 17 at 7:30 PM when they host the St. Michaels Buzzers.
The Dukes will be playing in the 8 team East Division of the OJHL.  They will play 6 games each with the Cobourg Cougars, Kingston Voyageurs and the Trenton Golden Hawks.  They will also play 4 games each against the Lindsay Muskies, Peterborough Stars, Pickering Panthers and the Whitby Fury.
Teams in the East Division will also play 2 cross-over games against teams in the South Division, namely:  Dixie Beehives, North York Rangers, St. Mikes, Streetsville Derbys, Toronto Jr. Canadiens, Upper Canada Patriots, Vaughan Vipers and the Villanova Knights.
The Dukes will play 74% of their 50 game schedule on weekend dates as the league emphasis continues towards the players education as well as their hockey development.
