Express concerns about health care

Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation Chairman Leo Finnegan is urging County residents to express concerns about health care.

He hopes they will attend the Health Care Tomorrow open house Tuesday, May 19th, anytime between 3 and 7 p.m.  in relation to the
public engagement process initiated by the South East Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) and its health care partners. The open house is located at the Prince Edward Community Centre Main Street, Picton.

“The open house will provide an opportunity for the community to provide input which will help to inform the long-term decision making for the future distribution of hospital services through the four Quinte Health Care hospitals, including Prince Edward County Memorial,” said Finnegan. “Quinte Health Care will use the input from the community engagement in order to make the decisions based on what patients, families and community members have identified as their health care priorities.  This includes helping to determine what services need to be delivered within a new hospital in Picton, or services better delivered by other health care providers in the community.”

Residents can also go to www.healthcaretomorrow.ca to complete a survey and learn more. They may also call (613) 969-7400, ext. 5410 to request a paper copy of the survey.
