That’s terrible. Sounds like what happened to a cousin of mine 15 years ago. The bridemaids left some hot curling irons that fell into a pile of clothes and caught fire. Burned most of upper part of the house including some wedding gifts. Hopefully, this is the worst thing in their new lives out of the way and the rest smooth sailing!

Good to hear that no one was injured. I’m sorry for their loss.

Staying at the wedding shows strength of character and proves that they know that relationships are more important than things.

I wish for your niece and her husband a long and happy life together.

It was my sister’s house and we were all at the Picton Arena for my niece, her daughter’s wedding. It was devasting to be at the reception to have the police officers approach our table to tell my sister that her house when on fire….This was told to them as the speeches were being said. My heart goes out to my niece and to my sister and brother in law, the are the most loving and strongest people I know. My niece’s passport and all her luggage was in the house. Her honeymoon she can not go on as she did not take cancellation insurance. I am so saddened by the whole thing. My sister has worked months and months on this wedding , never did I ever imagine my niece’s wedding to be like this…..it is so real and I stil cannot believe it. My thoughts and prayers are with my niece and her new husband and my sister. Despite the tradgedy my niece was the most beautiful bride ever. The courage she had to go on with the wedding proves to show how strong of a person she is.
