Families dared to envision a future where their children were supported

Since 1965, Community Living Prince Edward has championed inclusion, and supported people with intellectual disabilities age 0 to 99+ to live their best possible life in Prince Edward County.

Sixty years ago, a group of courageous and determined families came together, united by a common dream: they wanted more for their sons and daughters—a life of dignity, of opportunity, and of possibility. These founding families dared to envision a future where people with intellectual disabilities live full lives, as valued citizens in their communities.

That dream became the foundation of what we is now proudly known as Community Living Prince Edward.

Today, Community Living supports more than 350 children, youth, and adults, along with their families, as they live the lives they choose — lives where aspirations and dreams are not only supported but celebrated. They take on meaningful roles as volunteers, students, artists, musicians, advocates, and employees, making real contributions to the Prince Edward County community.

Support from the community helps Community Living to keep supporting people with intellectual disabilities and their families to explore possibilities, pursue opportunities, make choices, and live the life they choose.
