festival-of-treesThe County Festival of Trees gross proceeds of $45,000 will go toward the purchase of new portable ultrasound equipment for the Picton hospital thanks to visitors who bid generously on 189 decorated trees and purchased goods at the show.

The 21st annual event was held at Isaiah Tubbs Resort  Nov. 28-30. It is the seventh year with the festival has been sponsored by the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

“The organizers of the Festival, under the leadership of the Auxiliary’s Director of Fundraising Projects, Art Hewer, have worked hard to make this event an important County tradition, and to ensure that it remains a family-oriented event, with fun and activities for everyone,” said Dorothy Speirs-Vincent
the auxiliary’s director of communications.

“The auxiliary is indebted to many people, who have worked cheerfully and tirelessly to make the festival a very special event: our sponsors and donors, the festival committee, our volunteers and friends who worked so hard, all those who baked and bought and preserved and purchased, the boutique and art show sales staff and the many musicians who freely gave of their time and talent.

“Isaiah Tubbs Resort donated a beautiful space for our event, and the staff helped to create a warm Christmas atmosphere. Many thanks to Santa – ably aided by Mrs. Claus and Santa’s photographer – who took time out of his busy schedule to visit with children and adults alike. Thanks also to Home Hardware and to Quinte Health Care for their support.”
