Enjoy a champagne reception, dinner by East & Main, and a silent auction featuring PEC’s best artists & businesses. Jamie Stever will be back! Dancing at 9pm.

This year’s Heart of Winter Gala will benefit the CML Snider School playground equipment, and the Storehouse Foodbank. An age of Majority Event.

On behalf of our parent council we ask for your help in making our school and community an even better place to learn, play and grow.

The school does not receive funding for development of the school playground, track, library, classrooms, etc. As a parent body, we feel the need to support our students and teachers through this manor of fund-raising, on a community level, to better provide for our youth and ultimately, our community.

In our inaugural season, the gala raised funds for new play yard equipment. Over time, changes to safety guidelines mean that outdated equipment is periodically removed from school playgrounds. This has left a real gap in opportunities for healthy, active play during recess periods. We are embarking on a four-year campaign to raise funds for new playground equipment.

Fortunately, rather than wait, we were able to install the new play structures with a loan arranged through the school board. Now, we just have to pay it back! And we are! And to thank our generous community, our school also wants to give back.

In addition, this season’s Heart of Winter Gala will also be sharing the funds raised with the Wellington Storehouse Foodbank. Many of our family have come to rely on the Storehouse Foodbank, and now we can help say thanks to those who work hard all year long, and help the families in our community.

We hope that you will consider supporting our gala fundraiser through purchasing tickets for the event, making a financial donation or contributing to the silent auction.
