Advance polls for federal election open all weekend

The federal election day is Monday, April 28.
Advance voting takes place this weekend from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Prince Edward Community Centre, 375 Picton Main Street East, Picton on:

Monday, April 21
People can also vote at the local Elections Canada, (until Tuesday, April 22 at 6 p.m.) 71 Adam St., Belleville, open Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 4 p.m.
Electors who have not received a voter information card may register at their assigned polling station just before they vote on election day. Find your voting location online at elections.ca
Four Bay of Quinte candidates named for April 28 federal election
MARCH 27: Three candidates have been named to take on Conservative Ryan Williams for the April 28 federal election.
Retired journalist and Belleville councillor Chris Malette has been named the Liberal candidate. Kate Crothers, a small business owner, will represent the NDP. Erica Charlton, Hastings Prince Edward District School Board trustee, has been confirmed to return as the Green Party candidate. Before being elected as MP, Williams was a hotelier and a Belleville councillor.
Voter turnout in the Bay of Quinte region in 2021 was 64.95 per cent as 62,105 of 95,615 voters cast their ballot. The riding includes Prince Edward County, much of Quinte West and Belleville, south of Highway 401.

Prime Minister Mark Carney asked Governor General Mary Simon to dissolve parliament Sunday, March 23 and call a federal election for Monday, April 28.
Carney was sworn in as prime minister March 14 and appointed a cabinet. MPs were to return to the house Monday, March 24 after parliament being prorogued on Jan. 6, following the resignation of prime minister Justin Trudeau.
The federal leaders in the 2025 election are: Liberal Leader Mark Carney, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh, Bloc Leader Yves-Francois Blanchet, and Green Party co-leader Jonathan Pedneault, with Elizabeth May.
