Four new COVID-19 cases; 20 active cases

OCT. 29: Four new COVID-19 cases recorded, and two recoveries, making 20 active cases in Hastings and Prince Edward counties.

Of the four new cases – two in Centre Hastings and one each in Quinte West and Belleville – all were not vaccinated. Of the 20 active cases – six each in Belleville and Centre Hastings, five in Quinte West, two in Prince Edward County and one in Deseronto – 11 people were not vaccinated, nine were fully vaccinated.

Two of the three outbreaks have been declared over. One, from a workplace in Belleville declared Oct. 25 continues, affecting three cases.

OCT. 28: Two new COVID-19 cases in Hastings Prince Edward counties puts the active case load to 18.

Of the new cases – both in Centre Hastings – one person was not vaccinated, the other fully vaccinated. Of the 18 active cases – five in Belleville, four each in Quinte West and Centre Hastings, two each in Prince Edward County and Deseronto and one in North Hastings – nine people were not vaccinated, nine were fully vaccinated.

The three outbreaks continue – at a workplace in Belleville, Belleville District Christian School and Tyendinaga Public School – affecting 14 cases.

Individuals 12 years old and older (as of Dec. 31, 2021) looking for their first or second dose of the COVID-19 can walk into the clinic at the Prince Edward Community Centre (Picton Arena) at 375 Picton Main Street on the following dates and times:

OCT. 27: Two new COVID-19 cases and one recovery put active cases in Hastings Prince Edward at 16.

Of the new cases – one in Prince Edward County and one in North Hastings – one person was fully vaccinated, one not vaccinated. Of the 16 active cases – five in Belleville, four in Quinte West, two each in Prince Edward County, Deseronto, Centre Hastings and one in North Hastings – eight people were not vaccinated, eight were fully vaccinated.

Three outbreaks continue – at a workplace in Belleville, at Belleville District Christian School and at Tyendinaga Public School – affecting 14 cases.

OCT. 26: No new cases and five recoveries bring active COVID-19 cases to 15 in Hastings Prince Edward counties.

Of the active cases – six in Belleville, four in Quinte West, two each in Deseronto and Centre Hastings – eight people were not vaccinated and seven were fully vaccinated.

One new outbreak has been declared at a Belleville workplace, affecting three cases. Two outbreaks – at Belleville District Christian School and Tyendinaga Public School – continue, affecting 11 cases.

OCT. 25: Six new COVID-19 cases were reported over the weekend in Hastings Prince Edward counties.

Of the six new cases – five in Belleville and one in Centre Hastings – four people were fully vaccinated and two were not vaccinated.

Of the 20 active cases – 10 in Belleville, six in Quinte West, two in Centre Hastings and one each in Prince Edward County and Deseronto – 10 people were not vaccinated, nine were fully vaccinated and one was partially vaccinated.

Two outbreaks continue – at Tyendinaga Public School and Belleville District Christian School – affecting 11 cases.

OCT. 22: Three new COVID-19 cases and two recoveries keep the active case load at 21 in Hastings Prince Edward counties.

The new cases – two in Quinte West and one in Belleville – were in people who were not vaccinated. Of the 21 cases – eight in Quinte West, seven in Belleville, three in Centre Hastings, two in Prince Edward County and one in Deseronto – 15 people were not vaccinated, five fully vaccinated and one partially vaccinated.

There are no COVID-19 related hospitalizations. Three outbreaks continue in Tyendinaga, Quinte West and Belleville, that affected 13 cases.

OCT. 21: Three new COVID-19 cases and four recoveries reported, bring the active case load in Hastings Prince Edward to 21.

Of the three new cases – one in Prince Edward County and two in Centre Hastings – two people were not vaccinated and one was fully vaccinated. Of the 21 active cases, seven each in Quinte West and Belleville, four in Centre Hastings, two in Prince Edward County and one in Deseronto – 15 people were not vaccinated, five were fully vaccinated and one was partially vaccinated.

The three outbreaks continue. Nobody is in hospital related to COVID-19 cases.

OCT. 20: Three new COVID-19 cases and four recoveries were reported, dropping the active case load to 20 in Hastings Prince Edward counties.

Of the new cases – all three in Quinte West – two people were not vaccinated, one was fully vaccinated. Of the 20 active cases – seven each in Quinte West and Belleville, and two each in Prince Edward County, Deseronto and Centre Hastings – 14 people were not vaccinated, five were fully vaccinated and one was partially vaccinated.

Three outbreaks continue – in Quinte West, Belleville and Tyendinaga – affecting 11 cases.

OCT. 19: Three new COVID-19 cases and five recoveries put the Hastings Prince Edward active case total at 23.

Of the new cases – one in each of Prince Edward County, Quinte West and Deseronto – two people were not vaccinated and one was fully vaccinated.

Of the 23 active cases – 12 in Belleville, four in Quinte West, three in Prince Edward County and two each in Deseronto and Centre Hastings – 17 people were not vaccinated, five fully vaccinated and one partially vaccinated.

There are no hospitalizations. Four outbreaks continue – affecting 17 cases – in Belleville, Quinte West and Tyendinaga.

No appointment is necessary to get the COVID-19 vaccine at the clinic in Picton.

OCT. 18 – Six new COVID-19 cases and 17 recoveries have been reported by Hastings Prince Edward Public Health from over the weekend.

Of the six new cases – two in Belleville and one each in Prince Edward County, Quinte West, Centre Hastings and North Hastings – five people were fully vaccinated, one was partially vaccinated.

Of the 27 current active cases – 14 in Belleville, four in Centre Hastings, three each in Quinte West and Deseronto, two in Prince Edward County and one in North Hastings – 20 people were not vaccinated, six were fully and one partially vaccinated.

Five outbreaks continue – at Belleville District Christian School (six cases); VP Carswell Elementary School (two cases); Tyendinaga Public School (three cases); and unspecified outbreaks in Belleville (three cases) and Tyendinaga (six cases).

OCT. 15: Four new COVID-19 cases reported, along with three recoveries, bringing the active case load to 38. Two people are in hospital.

All four of the new cases – three in Belleville and one in Centre Hastings – were in people who were not vaccinated.

Of the 38 active cases – 19 in Belleville, six each in Quinte West and Deseronto, three in Centre Hastings and two each in Prince Edward County and North Hastings – 32 people were not vaccinated; six were fully vaccinated.

OCT. 14: Two more outbreaks, two new COVID-19 cases and four recoveries put the active case load to 37 in Hastings Prince Edward Counties.

An outbreak at Belleville District Christian School declared Oct. 13 affects five cases. One at VP Carswell Elementary School in Trenton affects two cases. The continuing outbreak at Tyendinaga Public School affects two cases and another outbreak in Belleville continues, affecting three cases.

Of the new cases – one each in Centre Hastings and Belleville – one person was not vaccinated, the other fully vaccinated.

Of the 37 active cases – 17 in Belleville, six each in Quinte West and Deseronto, two each in Prince Edward County and North Hastings and one in Tyendinaga – 29 people were not vaccinated and eight were fully vaccinated.

Two people remain in hospital.

OCT. 13: Seven new COVID-19 cases reported, along with three recoveries, putting the active cases in Hastings Prince Edward at 39.

Of the new cases – four in Belleville, two in Quinte West and one in North Hastings – six people were not vaccinated, one was fully vaccinated.

Of the 39 active cases – 18 in Belleville, six each in Quinte West and Deseronto, three in Tyendinaga and two each in Prince Edward County, Centre Hastings and North Hastings – 31 people were not vaccinated, eight were fully vaccinated.

Two people are in hospital. Three outbreaks continue, in Tyendinaga and Belleville, affecting 11 cases.

OCT. 12: Twenty new COVID-19 cases were recorded over the long weekend, along with nine recoveries, putting the active case load in Hastings Prince Edward at 35. Two people are in hospital, one in ICU.

Of the new cases – 10 in Belleville, five in Deseronto, two in Centre Hastings and one each in Prince Edward County, Quinte West and North Hastings – 16 people were not vaccinated, four were fully vaccinated.

Of the 35 active cases – 14 in Belleville, six in Deseronto, five each in Tyendinaga and Quinte West, two each in Prince Edward County and Centre Hastings and one at North Hastings – 28 people were not vaccinated, seven were fully vaccinated.

There are now three outbreaks – one in Belleville affecting three cases, one at Tyendinaga Public School affecting two cases, and the continuing outbreak at Tyendinaga affecting six cases.

OCT. 8: Five new COVID-19 cases and five recoveries keep active cases in Hastings and Prince Edward counties at 24.

Of the five new cases – two in Belleville and one each in Prince Edward County, Quinte West and Deseronto – three people were not vaccinated, two were fully vaccinated.

Of the 24 active cases – seven each in Quinte West and Bellevile, six in Tyendinaga, two in Prince Edward County and one in each of Centre Hastings and Deseronto – 16 people were not vaccinated and eight were fully vaccinated. One person is in hospital, in ICU.

OCT. 7 – One death related to COVID-19 has been recorded – bringing the total since the pandemic began, to 14 in Hastings Prince Edward counties. Twelve of the deaths were in people aged 70 and over, one person was between 60-69 years old, another was between 30-39 years old.

Two new COVID-19 cases and five recoveries create an active case load of 24. Three people remain in hospital, one in ICU.

Of the two new cases – in Belleville – one was not vaccinated, one fully vaccinated. Of the 24 active cases – nine in Quinte West, six each in Belleville and Tyendinaga, two in Centre Hastings and one in Prince Edward County – 16 people were not vaccinated, seven fully and one partially vaccinated.

The outbreak at Tyendinaga from Oct. 5 continues and affects six cases.

Of the 28 active cases – 11 in Quinte West, seven in Belleville, six in Tyendinaga, two in Centre Hastings and one each in Prince Edward County ad North Hastings – 20 people were not vaccinated, six fully and two partially vaccinated.

Three people are in hospital, two in the ICU. A new community outbreak has been declared at Tyendinaga, affecting two cases.

OCT. 5: Three new COVID-19 cases were recorded along with five recoveries for a total of 26 active cases in Hastings Prince Edward. Three people are in hospital, two in ICU, one using a ventilator.

Of the three new cases – two in Tyendinaga and one in Quinte West – all were in people who were not vaccinated.

Of the 26 active cases – nine each in Quinte West and Belleville, four in Tyendinaga, two in Centre Hastings and one each in Prince Edward County and North Hastings – 18 people were not vaccinated, six fully and two partially vaccinated.

OCT. 4 – Nine new COVID-19 cases were reported over the weekend, along with 19 recoveries, for 28 active cases in Hastings Prince Edward. Three people are in hospital, two in ICU.

Of the nine new cases – one each in Prince Edward County and Centre Hastings, two in Belleville and three in Quinte West and two in Tyendinaga – five people were not vaccinated, three fully and one partially vaccinated.

Of the 28 active cases – 11 each in Quinte West and Belleville, two each in Centre Hastings and Deseronto and one each in Prince Edward County and North Hastings – 19 people were not vaccinated, six fully and three partially vaccinated.

Both outbreaks in Quinte West have been declared over. See below for October vaccine clinic locations.

OCT. 1: One new COVID-19 case has been reported in Prince Edward County in a person who was not vaccinated. With five recoveries, there are now 39 active cases in Hastings Prince Edward counties. Three people are in hospital, two in the ICU.

Of the 39 cases – 21 in Quinte West, 12 in Belleville, two each in Prince Edward County and Deseronto and one each in North Hastings and Centre Hastings – 27 people were not vaccinated, and six each were fully and partially vaccinated.

Two outbreaks, at St. Mary Catholic School in Quinte West declared Sept. 25; and the Bain Park Trenton baseball game, declared Sept. 17, continue, affecting seven cases.

Pop-up COVID-19 vaccine clinics continue during October. No appointment necessary, just bring your health card. Individuals who do not have a valid health card can still receive COVID-19 vaccination.
