Further vandalism at Little Bluff

Quinte Conservation is reporting further vandalism to the Little Bluff Conservation Area.

Sometime between April 9-13 vandals spray painted the newly installed entrance sign and two signs attached to the closed entrance gate.

Tammy Smith, Corporate Services Manager, says Little Bluff is not closed because of the current lockdown, but for required maintenance and improvement projects caused by the excessive damage that was done to the area from last summer’s overwhelming crowds.

The vandalism appears to reflect the logo for The Line, Canada’s (mostly) homegrown anti-lockdown movement. The splashed red line over a thick black circle has been most popular in Albertan Facebook circles, but has gained traction among Quebec and Ontario residents.

“As the area is environmentally significant, the closure was necessary in order to give the land time to repair and recover. Maintenance work is set to be completed this spring.”

Quinte Conservation will make an announcement with more information once the area is set to open. Residents living around Little Bluff are asked to report trespassers to the OPP.
