Quinte Conservation’s Education Staff will host a Wild About Wildlife Family Nature Day Friday at Macaulay Mountain Picton from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Staff will lead families through fun and interactive activities exploring nature. Each child will be invited to make a plant pot and take home a seedling to plant in their gardens to help pollinators.
“We are very excited for this summer’s new Family Nature Days, it will give us an opportunity to educate people on the importance of preserving our natural surroundings as well as introduce them to the work that Quinte Conservation does in their community,” said Maya Navrot, Conservation Education Coordinator.
Activities include:
– Learn about water bugs and water quality
– Meet bird experts and their falcon friends
– Live Ontario reptile display
– Discover what lives in Lake Ontario
– Nature games, activities, and scavenger hunts
– Children must be accompanied by an adult. Admission is free of charge.
