The heart-pumping, cheer-thumping, Big Bike for Heart and Stroke is cycling through Picton today.
For 20 minutes, teams of 29 riders power the bike in support of heart disease and stroke research. Last year, more than 70,000 riders in 200 communities raised more than $8 million for the cause.
First off the mark, above, were the Hamilton Beach Heart Throbs. Also scheduled are participants with Health Care PEC, the PEFAC Peddlers, Fitness Powers, Picton Dental and the Scotiabankers.
Rides continue this morning and late afternoon, from the Metro grocery store. Representatives are on site to answer questions and receive donations.
