‘Honour our Heroes’ Remembrance Day campaign begins

Bay of Quinte MPP Todd Smith, hit the small screen Monday, introducing the province’s new Remembrance Day campaign during the Breakfast Television Toronto show.

Smith, Government House Leader and Minister of Government and Consumer Services, explained the ‘Honour our Heroes’ video and advertising campaign which honours members of the Canadian Armed Forces, past and present, for their service during times of war, conflict and peace.

The video asks viewers to ‘Honour our heroes with a moment of silence” and shows a picture of a red poppy adding “Find your moment”.

Remembrance Week is held Nov. 5-11. County residents will honour veterans and active service members by observing a moment of silence at 11 a.m. Nov. 11 at cenotaphs in Picton, Wellington and Consecon.

The campaign is also promoting online sharing of gratitude and respect by using the hashtags #RemembranceDay and #LestWeForget
