Hortons ‘perks up’ essential workers

To support those working to keep the public safe amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Tim Hortons delivered free coffee and baked goods to front-line workers across Prince Edward County.

Paul and Valerie Massey, owners of the Picton and Wellington Tim Hortons restaurants wanted to give thanks to those working on the front lines during this crisis.

The first stop on the delivery run was Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital, where a small group of staff met the Tim Hortons team to receive goodies and pose for a physically distanced photo in front of the hospital. Paul and Valerie’s small gesture during this difficult time made ‘perked up’ health care professionals.

The Tim Hortons company began its coffee delivery initiative March 18, with a stop at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto. Since then, the coffee truck has been making deliveries across the country.

“It’s a small gesture to say thank you to those making a big impact during this uncertain time,” said Paul Massey. “During a time when hours are long and stress is high, a hot cup of coffee can make even the slightest difference for many. On behalf Valerie, myself and our staff in Picton and Wellington, thank you!”

The truck continued to brew up support at the Prince Edward County Fire and Rescue and area nursing homes.
