Hospital Foundation director moving on

Hazel Lloyst

The Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation will be reviewing resumes for the position of executive director next next week, but the interim director’s will not be among them.

Hazel Lloyst, interim director for the past year and a half, has informed the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation Board that she will not be seeking the permanent staff position.

The board appointed Lloyst to the interim contract position with the intention of launching a competitive process for the permanent position at a later date. The board released an employment opportunity announcement in May.

“We truly regret losing Hazel in this competition for the permanent position of executive director. For the year and a half that she has been with the foundation, she has brought not only a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the realm of community charitable fund-raising, but also an energy and enthusiasm that has refreshed and reinvigorated the foundation board and office,” said Leo Finnegan, Foundation Chairman. “Hazel’s positive attitude earned her the respect and gratitude of the board and the members of the community who are closely aligned with the status of our hospital. We wish her every success and happiness in her new pursuits.”

Finnegan said Lloyst cited a long-time desire to explore other creative interests as the reason for her decision to withdraw from the competition.  Lloyst will remain with the foundation until the end of August and during the next two months will continue to orchestrate a number of community fund-raising events.
