Hospital Foundation McHappy about donation

Foundation-McHappyThe Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation was McSmilin’ at McDonald’s McHappy Day. This year, the Foundation was the charity of choice for McDonald’s Restaurant in Picton where volunteers in the community worked alongside McDonald’s employees during the day. More than$1,800 was raised and the proceeds will be directed toward the purchase of hand-held multi-media devices to distract children who are patients receiving treatment in Picton’s emergency department.
“Our job is to support the medical staff at the hospital by raising donations to pay for the medical equipment and facilities needed to provide a range of health care services to County residents,” said Larry Matheson, immediate past president of the Foundation. “We cannot lose sight of this as our mission and our ongoing priority.  The Foundation consists of community volunteers who are committed to keeping this hospital in Picton and functioning properly. We have a very strict practice concerning the distribution of funds. First and foremost, we satisfy the equipment needs at Picton hospital.
The Foundation thanked Dan Doyle and his staff  for choosing the Foundation as their charity of choice for 2013. Thank You to Dan Doyle and his staff for working so hard with the community and PECMH Foundation on MC Happy Day to donate $1800.00 to purchase hand held media devices to distract children who are patients receiving treatment in the emergency dept. of our wonderful little hospital. What a great idea and what a fine looking group in the photo (especially the Guy in the middle.) The thing that I liked most about this story was that QHC was not mentioned once.
