Combined with sponsorship received in the spring for the Prince Edward Community Centre Hall, naming rights sponsorship by Lanny Huff of Huff Estates for the Prince Edward Community Centre arena will provide the funding for a new sign.

Council is to receive a report from Corporate Services and Finance recommending council authorize the naming rights and authorizes staff to tender an electronic sign.

Huff has committed the $50,000 sponsorship requested contingent on the County’s commitment to the electronic sign.

In June council authorized the removal of the roadside sign on the fairgrounds property and accepted the sponsorship proposal by the Rotary Club of Picton for naming rights of the community centre hall.

Similar to the Rotary sponsorship requests, Huff Estates sponsorship requests one-time cost for interior and exterior signage estimated at $2,300 and 10 hours of public skating ice time to be promoted as Huff Estate Public Skates during each ice season. Naming rights for both facilities are to be in effect for a decade.

The report states information on alternative signs suggests the cost can be met by the total sponsorship of $70,000. Additional costs related to ground work, mounting and electrical connections are to be determined through the tendering process.
