Hull named Green Energy Critic

Ontario Greens leader Mike Schreiner named Prince Edward-Hastings candidate Treat Hull to the party’s shadow cabinet. Hull will serve as the party’s Energy Critic.
Schreiner noted Hull’s experience leading the Green Party of Ontario’s campaign against cutbacks to the MicroFIT solar energy program and the local candidate’s previous work as GPO Policy Chair.
“Treat Hull has been a key player in the policy process. I’m confident that he’s the right choice for spokesperson on energy matters,” Schreiner said. “He brings extensive knowledge to the portfolio.”
Schreiner also noted the specific importance of the appointment to Prince Edward-Hastings.
“I believe that Treat’s solid background in both local issues like wind energy and the party’s focus on common sense, community-based green energy solutions is a good fit for the riding.”
Hull will also serve as interim Innovation and Research critic.
Hull, 61, recently retired after a career of more than three decades in consulting and executive management. He is President of the Prince Edward-Hastings Green Party of Ontario constituency association.
Chosen last fall as the party’s candidate opposing incumbent MPP Leona Dombrowsky, Hull has since spearheaded a grassroots membership drive, focused on social media, that has seen the Prince Edward-Hastings Green Party of Ontario association grow to be one of the province’s largest.
