The Ice Wine Synchronized Skating Team won gold medals at the Provincial level Synchro Capers Competition this past weekend at the Sixteen Mile Arena in Oakville.
The team achieved its highest scores to date, (personal bests) earning 33.04 in their first skate and 35.72 in the Adult II Silver Final.
The home club of the Ice Wine Synchronized Skating Team is the Prince Edward County Skating Club but there are skaters representing all areas of Quinte, Prince Edward, Hastings and Brighton. The team skates weekly at the ESSROC Arena in Wellington.
“This dedicated team has managed to hold it’s own, with the much appreciated support of several local businesses, against the far better resourced and larger teams in urban areas,” said Merry Tinsley, manager. “The team would not be able to compete at this high level without their support.”
The team’s next skate is at the Quinte Frostfest in Batawa Saturday, Feb. 11th at 10:30a.m. and plans to compete again in Kanata in early March.
