Income tax returns by donation raises $2,000 for new hospital

CHEERS! from the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation to Scott Lavender and Barbara Shuster, on behalf of IG Wealth Management, who presented $2,000 to help Back the Build for a new hospital in Prince Edward County.

Lavender and Shuster, who both reside in Prince Edward County, are certified financial planners. This past spring, they completed income tax returns for 12 residents of Wellington on the Lake in exchange for a donation to be directed toward the Back the Build campaign. IG Wealth Management also supported this fundraiser through a matching gift incentive.

Lavender and Shuster hope to proceed with this initiative again for Wellington on the Lake residents next year.

“This initiative encouraged meaningful community involvement for the residents of Wellington on the Lake through Barbara and Scott’s efforts,” said Shannon Coull, executive director of the PECMH Foundation. “Philanthropic teams such as IG Wealth Management play a significant role as they help to shape how health care will be delivered in our community for years to come. This gift will also help others to think of creative ways to Back the Build. We are extremely grateful and are excited to welcome IG Wealth Management into our donor family.”
