Playing for Keeps helps children join in on activities such as sports or learning to play an instrument.

Those on board also supported the cause through silent auctions, donations and general sponsorship, said Kate Anderson, program co-ordinator with the foundation.

“We are very happy with how our first event went in Prince Edward County and are looking forward to another successful event next year,” said Anderson. “Together we are helping one child at a time.”

The foundation is best known in the County for its support of the Angel Tree campaign which has been assisting local families under the leadership of Susan Rose, for more than 30 years.

The foundation also helps families in need to send their children to summer camps and provides bursaries to students in care of the children’s aid to help them pursue post-secondary education.
