From 8 am until the event closing street dance – featuring the classic rock ‘n’ roll sounds of the County’s own “Ben Vandergaast and Band – the public is invited to take part in “Consecon Community Day 2015.”

“This is a day-long festivities-filled occasion with absolutely something for everyone,” said Bill McMahon, an organizer.

Kicking off the day is the Car Boot Sale in the Emm’s Restaurant parking lot right on Loyalist Parkway – or do your bargain hunting at the area-wide garage and yard sales taking place at the same time. Donations to the foodbank are welcome. A fire truck and OPP car are also on the Emm’s Restaurant property throughout the day.

Visitors can enjoy horse-drawn wagon rides around the village and the Consecon United Church Bake Sale. From 10 am till 1 pm the Merchant Mill will have Art on the Lawn with artists giving free workshops and demonstrations. The Janet B Gallery & Studio, at Mill St will have Chi Kung and art demonstrations.

At 11am at Redtail Vineyards off grid winery there will be light food pairings with all tastings.

The Consecon Library will hold its annual used book sale and kids craft area. Stop by the Biker Goddess Chic Collection on your way to the afternoon feature event.

At 1 pm the 5th Annual Consecon Soap Box Derby will roll out on the the Mill Street hill. Free registration begins at noon.

After the derby, head on down to the Consecon Legion, chill a little and take your time and enjoy the evening Pig Roast, your lead-in to the Street Dance on Mill Street in front of the Legion and the Masonic Hall.
