Jess Craig sets her sights on China

Jess Craig

Picton’s Jess Craig will set her sights on China for her next major international swimming competitions.
The former Picton Dolphin and PECI graduate will try to make the Canadian team for the World Championships in Shanghi set for July 2011.  She will also be competing to qualify for the World University Games in Shenzhen for August 2011.
The multi national aged group champion represented Canada at the last World University Games in Serbia, placing 13th overall. After being named to the national swim team last year, there has been little rest for the backstroke specialist and the hard work will be rewarded with a trip to the Far East.
She is entering her fourth year and currently swims for the mighty University of Calgary who have won three consecutive women team titles and last year won the combined team (men/women) title. After a successful recruiting off season, the Calgary Dinosaurs will be tough to overtake at the Canadian University Championships being held in February.
