Jenkins opens first campaign office – Picton office opens Tuesday

Jodie Jenkins officially opened his first campaign office in Quinte West Saturday, marking the official start of the federal election campaign.

The office was filled with eager supporters, volunteers and local, retiring, member of parliament, Rick Norlock.

“This is an exciting day for the entire team,” said Jenkins. “We have a dedicated group of volunteers who understand there is only one choice going into this election.

“The Conservative Party has demonstrated its commitment to a low-tax government plan. They have made significant investments in Bay of Quinte, including right here in Quinte West. This is not the time for a high-tax, risky government. I believe the Bay of Quinte constituents will support a plan that’s working.”

Norlock told the gathering he’s confident Jenkins has what it takes to be a strong advocate for constituents of the Bay of Quinte riding in Ottawa.

The new Bay of Quinte riding includes Belleville, Quinte West and Prince Edward County and the campaign will have an office in each region.

The official opening of the Picton office is Tuesday, Aug. 18 at 5 p.m. at 66 Main Street, Picton.

Election Day is Oct. 19.
