King Street closed Tuesday between Centre and Paul streets

The Water and Wastewater Department is working on emergency repairs as a result of a watermain leak, on King Street in Picton.

Repairs began Tuesday, Feb. 11 at 7 am, with an expected completion time of 5 p.m. the same day.

King Street will be closed to all but local traffic between Centre and Paul streets.

Residents requiring access to the construction will be accepted through Centre Street only. Motorists are asked to avoid the construction area and travel alternate routes.

These repairs are not expected to impact water quality; however, services on Paul Street between Picton Main and King streets and services on King Street between Paul and Ross streets may experience intermittent pressure fluctuations or temporary loss of service and coloured water while construction is taking place.
If coloured water is experienced, customers are encouraged to flush their water lines at the cold water tap nearest to the water meter once maintenance is complete.
