Kingfisher Financial under new ownership

Welcoming new owner Brent Timm to Kingfisher Financial is

Welcoming new owner Brent Timm to Kingfisher Financial is Cathy Goddard, wife of the late Jeff Goddard. Working with Timm are Lisa Reddick and Nick Koopmans.

The care of Kingfisher Financial clients will continue through the expertise of long-time County resident Brent Timm.

Timm has been in the financial services industry for 26 years and is also well known in the County for his work with the Kinsmen Club.

The company, located in downtown Picton, alongside McDougall Stanton, was owned by Jeff Goddard, who passed away earlier this month following a short battle with cancer.

“When Jeff and I started looking for someone to sell his business to, it was important to both of us that we find the best fit for his clients and for Prince Edward County,” said Cathy Goddard, Jeff’s wife. “We feel that Brent has the experience and embodies the core values that Jeff brought to his life and to the office every day and we’re sure he will continue to do a good job for Kingfisher clients.”

Timm has lived in the County for the past 18 years with his wife Tammy, and children Bryce and Olivia.

“It is my goal to continue Jeff Goddard’s business legacy,” said Timm. “I have similar core values to Jeff and considered him a friend, as did many local people.”

He said that though the reason for taking over the company is a sad one, it is important the company continues the work Goddard was known for with estate and will planning, life and health insurance, investment planning and banking products.

Fortunately, the company will also have the continued assistance of Lisa Reddick, who worked with Jeff for the past 15 years and has 33 years experience in the financial services industry.

Reddick will continue as Kingfisher Financial’s Marketing Associate. She was raised in Wellington and moved back to the County 31 years ago to raise a family.

Nick Koopmans also continues on the team as a financial advisor. He was hired by Goddard in December 2014. Koopmans was born and raised in the County.

Meet the team at an open house scheduled for Friday, Aug. 28 from 2-4 p.m. at the McDougall office, 268 Main St. Picton. If you’re not able to attend, drop by another day, or call 613 476 2776.
