Live Well in the County luncheon focuses on health, hospital

The Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation and the Wellings of Picton will present the second in a series of informative lunches with a focus on health and the County hospital.
The luncheons pair health promotion and wine tastings with a three-course meal while examining topics pertaining to the County hospital, Family Health Team and related wellness-inspired organizations.

April’s luncheon will take place Wednesday, April 20, 11:30 a.m., at the Grange of Prince Edward Vineyards and Estate Winery at 990 Closson Road in Hillier. Lunch will include salad, stew with fresh bread and fruit crumble and two wine tastings
Geri Claxton, registered nurse and team leader of the Hospital@Home program with the Prince Edward Family Health Team will will facilitate a discussion revolving around health care supports available in our community and how to access them.

“The speaking program will focus on maintaining and improving one’s health and overall wellness. Our guests will not only enjoy fantastic food and great wine at one of Prince Edward County’s premier wineries, they will also have an opportunity get out and visit with other like-minded people and hear interesting and relevant speakers while supporting our County hospital,” said Penny Rolinski, executive director of the PECMH Foundation.

Each luncheon is $35 per person which includes taxes, gratuity and a tax receipt for $10. Tickets are available now through the PECMH Foundation office at 613-476-1008 ext. 4425 or online at

All proceeds to support the LIFE SAVER Campaign currently under way at PECMH that aims to replace six scopes for the Endoscopy Department and update touch and go consoles for the Pharmacy Department at a cost of just over $200,000.
